So as I sit today here in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the date of 22 July 2015 .I plan on my next visit to say to do a trip at Nonyana River Lodge . I have decided that I want to try the new Flat Line series. So I pre plan on the weather and a strategy plan of how I will take on this river, but I have full confidence I can do it, you would ask why do I have so much confidence its winter. My answer would be I have Magic Baits. .So I am planning my trip from 27 Aug to 30 Aug. Weather is predicting it would be mostly sunny only Sunday 30 Aug would be some rain but that will not stop me .So I packed the car and hooked the trailer we are on our way to Nonyana . I arrive early at the camp site and see the fish jumping and that is a good sign . I so want to put my rod in the water but I can’t my wife Sayed that Thursday is family day so only on Friday I could put in a rod. So we spend some time around the fire. Friday morning I get to the camp site early to start and put up my tent and my fishing gear. By 12 all has been set up and the first rods is in the water. Was no great start as the first fish came out at about 4pm. so my wife came over and ask if she could also try the fishing thing. She then put on two plain Floties and some swiss and Xpresso on the ball ,she then told me she also want to cast in herself ,were I told her good let’s try it . In is her two rods with fresh bait .3 min later she had a reel run and a good one she went to set the hook and bring the fish to the side . Only when I saw it in the landing net I saw wow this is one big Muddy . It was a Monster of 3.1 KG
So she was all smiles as you can see .Then the second rod went off with also a reel run and she landed a 2.9 KG muddy . This was going good for her but not for me yet. So she set of back to the chalet and now I could start focus on my fishing. I continued to use the plain floats and swiss and Test Product Xpresso . Fish came out one by one so we were busy and it was all good. By 10 pm I took in my Specimen rods were I Did a snow man rig with White wizard and Xpresso and then turbo the whole snow man. So now the wait …. 11:30 pm on my birth day that alarm went off mad it ran and ran I set the hook and now the big Fight came that fish did not stop to take line , I also had the biggest smile on my face my father in law told me as I could feel this is a big fish . Then I win some line then she takes some so the fight went on for 2 hour. But I landed the beast of 8.2 KG that is now my personal best.
It was a long fight but I was the best Birth Day I have had in years.so I went to bed. The following day the fish started off with a big bang Magic Baits did its job. between me and my Father in law we have caught at least 20 each mostly Muddys and yellow fish , that day it continued to bite and keep us busy at 6PM I took in again my Specimen rods and this time I had Black widow snow man rig and some paint (black Widow) and left them to sit . As we started the fire and had a nice braai ,we enjoyed some wonderful meat and Cream soda , so off to bed At 11pm as tomorrow we need to start the big pack up and my father in law needs to travel back home to Thabazimbi . I took my Receiver for alarms to bed and fell asleep, so I keep on hearing this noise and woke up and thought to myself were does this noise come from and then it struck me it’s my Receiver and I have a Fish on I ran out of the tent and set the hook it was a nice size I could feel it. I struggled with this one 1 Hour and it was a nice 6.2KG
This was defiantly a wonderful weekend for me and The Magic was doing its work. Here is some of the fish we caught just on Sunday morning
I want Thanks Magic Baits for a wonderful product they make for us. A special Thanks for Riaan Van der Westuizen for all the help and how to rig up that made me caught two nice fish I can recommend to any angler try Magic it is the best that is why I use the best.
